I sometimes go for walks in the afternoons and look around the place with a bit of money in my pocket; just to see what the charity shops in my walking-distance area are offering up. And I found this darling little old purse that has been used lovingly. When I bought it, I found that some caring Mum had swiped liquid paper on both sides and wrote her child's name on it so they wouldn't lose it. However, what she didn't think was how hard it was to remove that now very old liquid paper.
Once home, I had to scrub at it hard with warm water and bi-carb to get the liquid paper off and make it as new-looking as possible. Now, it's a dear little coin purse that doesn't carry that much folding money, but would carry a nice amount of coinage if I needed it. And I know that coin purses are not made in the olive green anymore; so this was really a good catch for this day!
Now, I don't remember where I got this one from, but I have lent it out to my Mum a few times for dinners and weddings; and she has gotten some lovely remarks on it. Personally, I haven't used this purse as yet. And seeing how popular it has been with my Mum, I think it will be used more often in the future.
It's a lovely 1960 - 1970's even purse with plastic on the opening clasp. The feel of whole bag is very smooth and velvety to touch and the strap is in very good condition. Inside is clean and doesn't smell. I do match it up with a nice little coin purse most times, but not always. And it does fit most of the objects you'd want in your evening bag; from your mobile phone, car keys and lipstick to a nice lace handkerchief.
I received this lovely little purse from my Birthday Buddy last year. And isn't it lovely? I've yet to use it, but I haven't found the right occasion. So, it's waiting amongst my other Glow-Mesh Handbags for the right time to be chosen for those times of dinner out and about or just a lovely coffee as the sun goes down after a Matinee Show in the city.
I do have other Glow-Mesh Bags that I've yet to show you - and I'm really eager to put them on show - however just finding the right words to describe them is very hard. So, even though I have the photos all done up here, I've yet to figure out what I want to say about them all. I just wish these things were made still so they weren't so hard to find.
While I was in Bangalow, NSW, with Mum and a friend, we went to this large shop called 'Abracadabra' which is situated on the main street. This place stocks all kinds of things from Halloween masks, toy cars and things for kids to flags for the garden, Chinese umbrellas, fabric bags and coin purse to hundreds of types of incense - enough to make anyone sneeze badly.
Well, the moment I walked into the store, I headed straight for the coin purse section - and there two or three of those. And this absolutely 
gorgeous one was a tough one to pick out; as there were others in the same design, but in differing colours. There were emerald greens, bright Asian red, a golden yellow/orange and a royal blue to choose from. However, I chose this one - with the assistance of my friend Manda, who told me that she definitely thought it suited me well! And just look at that flower on it!
I have used it since I returned home; and it holds a lot of money, which surprised me. Usually purses of this size often look small and are small. So, I can personally say that looks can be most definitely be deceiving.
This little darling is a new purchase from the local Life Line store at Logan Central in the last week; and I wasn't even looking for tiny purses either. This one was right at the bottom of the box and looked extremely pretty and cute enough to take home!
I think it's from Japan or China and it's very clean inside and out. However, I don't think it's been used for anything at all. So, I have a feeling that it was given to a child and then put away because they weren't interested in it; or it wasn't big enough for the money they were carrying. But I found it the cutest thing ever to bring home and add to my growing collection.
This beautiful little pouch was sent to me from America by one of my friends on another site. I love all things Native American; and this is one of them. It's genuine rabbit skin; and is it soft and pretty!
I was told in a note that came with it that my friend bought it from an Indian Reservation not far from where they live. It's such a lovely example of their work and is such a treasure that I'll have to think hard about where I'll take this one to use it; that is if I decide to use it at all.
I used this one on Purple Shirt Day this year for my mobile phone; and it fitted quite easily in the little purse. I love how it feels and the people at the Logan Art Gallery thought it was a gorgeous little thing. However, I don't think I'd use it as a coin purse but a mobile phone holder.

I'm back from the Far North Coast of New South Wales and I've brought with me my new lot of coin purses that I purchased from Bangalow and the Brunswick Heads market. I will - in time - show them all to you and let you in on their secrets and beauty (as I did find some very pretty ones there). But while out shopping today, I also picked up a few ones. So, in the next few days, I'll be getting those up on the computer; ready for a new year of letting you in on my big little obsession about purses!
This little beauty was also bought at the Redland Bay Life Line store. I found it in the same shop as the one below and thought it the most beautiful little purse I've ever laid eyes on! And look at that colour! The red is just so beautiful and it wasn't dirty either; and the best part I found was that the inside was absolutely pristine!
When Mum and I were driving home, she told me that the hard purses like these ones were called Lipstick Purses. The reason being is because ladies would put their lipsticks inside them and take them to the Ladie's to touch up their lip colour at a restaurant instead of taking their whole handbag or pocketbook. It made it look less like they were putting on make up and more like they were taking a mini-purse with them.
Last week, I was at the Redland Bay Life Line while my Mum was off doing something else. While there, I rummaged through their box of small items and came up with this darling little purse. Her imaged jumped straight out at me as something I just had to have. The inside of the purse is in beautiful condition and I have been using it for a few days and have found it holds a lot of money.
I'm so please I found her; and she cost under $4.00. I do love little purses like these ones when they're in this kind of condition and I don't have to do too much to them; except use them, of course.
I've been trying to think of a way to introduce this one here. However, it's been difficult exactly how to describe it, so I'll tell you who bought it and work from there. My Mum bought this with her first pay packet and gave it as a gift to my Grandmother; who thought it was too good to use. However, it did get used each time they had to go out into the city for an occasion. People commented on how lovely the bag looked. Then, one
day, Mum noticed the pearls on one side of the bag had disappeared and had been lost.
A few months ago, Mum brought this box out of her room and showed me gorgeous, delicate bag and told me the above story. However, I'm amazed the bag didn't suffer more damage than the pearls disappearing seeing what it was made of. I love this little bag and have no intention of parting with it. And thought to share its beauty with you.
