New Fashions and Matching Bag

Today was the first fine day since it started raining over the weekend.  So, I was up early and doing a load of laundry - towels - and they were out before I ate breakfast and went out to do my grocery shop.
I walked into Life Line at Logan Central and found plenty of Summer stock on the shelves.  Skirts and dresses all in lovely colours were up on the racks waiting to be bought.  And there were handbags that were also out there and pretty too.  I saw a gorgeous skirt that caught my eye; which was similar to a black one I had spotted a few months back but this one was brown for $8.50.  So, I picked it up and tried it on.  It fitted well, and I loved the style and so I decided to take it.
As I walked out of the fitting room, I looked up along the walls - where there were other bags hanging up - saw one that had caught my eye the moment I walked in.  It was green and very pretty.  After I decided to purchase the skirt, I asked for the green bag.  It looked better up close than it did up on the wall!  And for $8.00 is was a great buy!  So, I bought both of these items and knew I had a great bargain!  The best thing is:  they match!  Now who woulda thought they'd go so well together?  I may wear them to the Gallery during my next shift this week.  Now... what top to put with the skirt!

Asian Flowers

On Thursday, I had the best luck while shopping.  It just must have been my day.  While I was out at the local Life Line, I found this absolutely gorgeous Asian-style bag that stood out from the other bags; quite literally.  With its colour and the stitching of the flowers on it, you could tell it had been loved by its previous owner.
The inside is in just as good condition; as is the handle.  And just look at the detail on the stitching of those flowers on the outside.  Even though it's only on one side of the bag, it's just lovely.  And none of it has frayed or come undone; which is just wonderful!  The button still does up as good as it did when it was first bought and the inside zipper opens and closes without difficulty.  Yes, I discovered a lovely purse I have added to my collection.  I'm so glad I didn't pass it up when I saw it; and I can't wait to use it.

From Vietnam

I sometimes find the most amazing things in Life Line - and other charity stores.  However, I found this lovely little beauty in my local Life Line Store and was absolutely blown away by its colour and originality.  When I looked at the tag on the inside to see how to clean it (as it looked a little grubby on the bottom from use), I found it was made in Vietnam!  What a find!
The sides and bottom of this bag are stiff as are the handles; so they didn't really need to stuff it with paper and bags, because it could stand up on its own.  And when I got it home, I still loved the way it looked.  I can't wait to use it!  Isn't it amazing what people don't want when their items come from other countries?  And just look at how well-made it is!

Oxfam Cuties!

These two are from a store I frequent for unusual and gifts when I'm not sure what to buy for people. Whether it be a wedding or birthday, I normally find the perfect gift for the right person right here at Oxfam; and it turns into a favourite very quickly. However, I thought to showcase these two coin purses in this one post as they are both from this the same store and are made in similar ways.

The first rectangular one caught my eye because of its strips and how nicely made it is. I use it once in a while when I'm out and about at the market; but never when I'm doing the groceries. In a purse for that, I need more room; and this purse doesn't allow for that.

The second purse I bought for its uniqueness. Because it's round and its design would have taken a bit of skill to make, I picked it up straight away. Also, I love the colours. They're so vibrant and pretty too! However, I've found this one is better for smaller currency and not so good with folding money and that's unfortunate; unless that's what you're looking for.
