While out and about yesterday, I also picked up another piece I'm rather proud of. However, it has traveled across most of Australia to be with me; and I'm not sure if it's a Dreamcatcher or a Hanger, but I do love it very much and have put it into my bedroom straight away.
How lovely is this piece? I'm contacting the company immediately to ask them what it is, as it's brand new and still has the tag on it and the original price tag as well.

Knitted Beauty From the US
Over the time I've been collecting coin purses, I've come across only one other coin purse like this; however, it wasn't in very good condition. This coin purse arrived in the mail today and it's lovely, knitted and had a magnetic bookmark from Florida inside it.
I also love the postcard from the 1970's of Niagara Falls pumpkinpussycat put in with it. What a very retro card! Thank you again for sending me this, I can't wait to try it out. Monday, October 18, 2010
Retro Vegas Baby!

Today, I went out to the post office to collect the mail. Monday's are always busy; but not today. I had one blue pick-up slip there and that was it. The parcel was from the USA and inside it was a lovely surprise of Reeces Peanut Butter Cups (one of my favourite chocolates come out of the States and Canada) and a very retro coin purse one of my Bookcrossing friends picked up on a recent trip to Las Vegas.
She told me that she was looking around a shop, saw it and immediately thought of me. Inside it is two 1c American coins and 10 yen. How cool is that? I love this
cassette tape coin purse! I may yet use it tomorrow when I'm out and about at Garden City. It's big enough for my uses; and interesting enough to be stared at by people besides me... and yeah, I'm still looking at it in amazement!

Rabbit Skin!
This beautiful little pouch was sent to me from America by one of my friends on another site. I love all things Native American; and this is one of them. It's genuine rabbit skin; and is it soft and pretty!I was told in a note that came with it that my friend bought it from an Indian Reservation not far from where they live. It's such a lovely example of their work and is such a treasure that I'll have to think hard about where I'll take this one to use it; that is if I decide to use it at all.
I used this one on Purple Shirt Day this year for my mobile phone; and it fitted quite easily in the little purse. I love how it feels and the people at the Logan Art Gallery thought it was a gorgeous little thing. However, I don't think I'd use it as a coin purse but a mobile phone holder.

Oh, Canada!
This is another coin purse - or pouch really - that my Mum bought for me when she and Dad were travelling around Canada and American. This is made from cow hide and has the most interesting feel to it. It's thick and beautiful; however I hardly ever use it. The main reason being that I'm worried that I would lose money out of it if it's ever tipped upside down in my handbag.
So, this money pouch stays right here at home. However, I do love the way it looks and feels; and that's the main thing. A lot of my purses are purchased on how they feel with me as well as if they're useful.

Grand Canyon!
When Mum gave me this coin purse, I loved it immediately. It was because it appeared as though it was made by the North American Indians. However, it's not; it says as much on the tag. I love it still nonetheless. This beautiful purse one of two that Mum bought (as I said to her that if she likes the purses she bought me when she has been traveling to buy herself one as well; what has she got to lose?) while she visited the Grand Canyon with Dad. Did you know that this great big 'hole in the ground' has some interesting facts about it? For example: the top of the canyon is older than the bottom; mainly
because it was flipped over when two continental plates rubbed against each other and made the land do exactly that thousands of years ago.Anyway, this place is amazing. And by what my parents have said about it (and they have had it on their computer as a screen saver a few times) they are planning on going back there. I use this purse a lot due to its zip-up ability and size and that it takes folding money well. The leather is so soft and pretty that I'm always finding myself using it in my everyday life.

Sin City

What a flashy, fantastic and addictive place Las Vegas is! And my parents have been there. This is where this little purse came from. While my folks traveled all over the world on their last holidays, my Mum bought all kinds of coin purses for me from as many places as she could. And this little shiny plastic one is one of my favourites.
I've yet to use it; however, I have the feeling it wouldn't last very long if I
did. So, I've put some fault Roman coins and other cute things in it so I don't lose those souvenirs and have kept it to one side for a long time until the right time comes along to use it - which right now, it hasn't.So, this one is around two years old and not yet used; but very cute!

Canadian Deer Skin
This one is one of my favourites; because it's so soft and beautiful. It's made of Deer Skin. Now, before you go calling me names, I was told by the giver of this gift (no I didn't purchase this one from a shop; my whole family and all my friends know I'm obsessed with these darling things), that the deer skin that was used to make this purse was from a controlled kill. This is so that those darling creatures don't become a pest to Canadians and Americans.
I received this one last year and have used it quite a few times over the last year to take shopping and other places; however, I do not take it to special ocassions, that's what the Black Chinese purse is for; or others like it.
